How Poland could line up against France

:Headline: How Poland could line up against France:
Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Poland could line up for Sunday's World Cup 2022 last-16 clash with France.
Sports Mole

Poland manager Czeslaw Michniewicz is blessed with a fully-fit squad for Sunday's World Cup 2022 last-16 clash with France at the Al-Thumama Stadium.

The Eagles finished second in Group C despite falling to a 2-0 loss on the final matchday to Argentina, who qualified in first place as Poland set up a tie with the reigning champions.

Michniewicz was indebted to number one Wojciech Szczesny for a large portion of that game, as the Juventus man kept out Lionel Messi's penalty before succumbing to strikes from Alexis Mac Allister and Julian Alvarez.

Szczesny will act as the last line of the Poland defence here, most likely with Matty Cash, Kamil Glik, Jakub Kiwior and Bartosz Bereszynski protecting him as an unchanged back four.

Cash and Kiwior will miss the quarter-finals - should Poland get there - if they are booked here, and the same goes for Grzegorz Krychowiak, who should link up with Krystian Bielik in the midfield once more.

Piotr Zielinski and Przemyslaw Frankowski, who was taken off at half time in the loss to Argentina, should also hold their places, but Michniewicz may be tempted into an attacking alteration.

Karol Swiderski was largely anonymous on Wednesday night, so Arkadiusz Milik could now force his way back into the XI alongside Robert Lewandowski, although Krzysztof Piatek is another option.

Poland possible starting lineup: Szczesny; Cash, Glik, Kiwior, Bereszynski; Frankowski, Bielik, Krychowiak, Zielinski; Lewandowski, Milik
