Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has dismissed speculation linking Joey Barton with a move to Everton.
The midfielder's agent recently claimed that he was in talks with the Premier League club over a transfer.
However, Redknapp insists that the 30-year-old is more likely to join Marseille following his loan spell with the Ligue 1 side last season.
"Marseille is the option," the QPR boss told BBC Sport. "Everton is not an option. I don't know where that one came from, but it was a silly story."
Barton featured for the R's as they got their Championship campaign off to a winning start on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
