Roma are on course to remain top of Serie A after Adem Ljajic gave Rudi Garcia's men a half-time lead away to Parma.
The visitors, looking to maintain their perfect record after beating Cagliari at the weekend, were close to edging in front on four minutes when Jose Holebas struck a speculative shot from a tight angle, which drifted only inches wide.
Ljajic gave the Giallorossi the lead just before the half-hour mark when the Serbian latched on to Francesco Totti's accurate through-ball before slotting his effort past keeper Antonio Mirante.
Parma were almost back on level terms within five minutes after Francesco Lodi's cross reached the head of Felipe, but the defender was thwarted by Morgan De Sanctis.
Roma, who came into the game ahead of Juventus in the Serie A table on goal difference, could have extended their lead with half time approaching when Totti again produced a threatening delivery and Radja Nainggolan's right-footed strike required a block by the home side's defence.
