Roma have maintained their 100% start to Serie A, beating Chievo 1-0 this evening.
Marco Borriello scored the only goal of the game to ensure a 10th league win in a row.
Roma struggled to really break their opponents down in the first 45 minutes despite dominating the ball.
The best that they could manage was a couple of half-chances for Marquinho and a powerful drive from the edge of the box by Kevin Strootman.
Their frustration continued into the second half, with Chievo holding firm as Borriello and Adem Ljajic started to find space up front.
Then, with 20 minutes to go, Roma finally broke the deadlock. Ljajic combined well with substitute Alessandro Florenzi to set up Borriello, whose header flicked in off the post.
Chievo responded well, creating a rare couple of chances in quick succession.
First, Sergio Pellissier fired wide from distance, then the same player collected a rebound and was brought down in the box by Mehdi Benatia. However, the assistant referee's flag spared the hosts.
Roma were comfortable thereafter and survived a late half-chance to take all three points.
