Torino came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Roma in their Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico this afternoon.
It took the visitors until midway through the opening half to create their first chance, but after being found in acres of space, Alessandro Florenzi could only hammer a strike wide of the post.
Juan Iturbe then came close with a powerful effort that beat Daniele Padelli and flashed just wide of the post.
At the end of the first half Adem Ljajic had one final chance to score for Roma, but he could only place his header wide of the post.
After the break, Ljajic had another glimpse of goal for the visitors when he was slipped in down the right and saw his near-post effort blocked.
Roma were then awarded a penalty when Daniele De Rossi went down inside the box under a challenge from Emiliano Moretti. Florenzi stepped up to take the spot kick and he made no mistake with a composed finish past Padelli.
Torino were behind for just six minutes, as Giuseppe Vives set up Maxi Lopez to finish from close range, although the ball appeared to have gone out of play in the build-up to the goal.
Roma almost immediately restored their lead, but after being found unmarked inside the box, Victor Ibarbo headed wide of the post.
Florenzi then saw his strike pushed behind by the keeper and Davide Astori lashed an effort over, as the Giallorossi continued to press for the winning goal.
Seydou Doumbia came close in the dying moments when his downwards header bounced narrowly over the bar, but it proved to be Roma's final chance as they were forced to settle for a draw.
