Seattle Sounders have managed to hold Real Salt Lake to a goalless draw at the CenturyLink Field, despite a red card for Zach Scott in the first half.
The hosts were put on the back foot inside 30 minutes, with Scott being sent off for two fouls on Nat Borchers and Javier Morales respectively.
Following Scott's dismissal, Salt Lake struggled to capitalise on the numerical advantage before the break and the Sounders finished the first half as the better side.
Morales came close to opening the scoring immediately after the interval but Michael Gspurning was on hand to tip the midfielder's strike over the crossbar.
Salt Lake dominated possession in the second period but it was the hosts who nearly made the breakthrough when Christian Tiffert's cross was headed inches wide by Andy Rose.
The visitors continued to put pressure on the Sounders defence in the closing stages but the home side survived to claim a point.
