Sports Mole previews Friday's friendly clash between South Korea and Tunisia, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

South Korea play host to Tunisia in a friendly on Friday looking to extend their recent unbeaten streak to four matches.

Meanwhile, Tunisia make the trip to the Seoul World Cup Stadium looking to generate further momentum ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations campaign early next year.

Match preview

Having been appointed as the new South Korea boss in February, Jurgen Klinsmann has been tasked with trying to progress a team that possesses a number of genuine world-class players.

As it stands, though, just one victory has been posted in six matches, with that success coming against Saudi Arabia during the September international break.

That represented a third game without defeat for South Korea, who were held 1-1 by El Salvador in June before they earned a goalless draw against Wales in Cardiff last month.

While there is a perception that the Tigers of Asia are making small strides under Klinsmann, their lack of goals will be a concern with just five strikes being recorded in Klinsmann's six matches.

From the German's perspective, he may be ready for next month's World Cup qualifiers to commence, yet the fixtures against Tunisia and Vietnam provide him with further opportunities to take a look at his squad.

As far as Tunisia are concerned, they are using their trip to Asia as preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations after they scraped through to the Finals.

A 3-0 victory over Botswana on the final matchday ensured that they finished ahead of Equatorial Guinea on goal difference to book their spot in the Ivory Coast.

After losing to their group rivals in the previous competitive fixture, it was an impressive response from Jalel Kadri's team who want to build on their famous win over eventual finalists France at the World Cup.

Two World Cup qualifiers - against Sao Tome e Principe and Malawi - follow in November, so Kadri may want to make full use of his squad to assess different options for these fixtures against South Korea and Japan.

Team News

Klinsmann has the option of selecting the same South Korea side that started the last fixture with Saudi Arabia and completed the opening 68 minutes.

That would see Son Heung-min play in a central creative role, behind Cho Gue-sung who scored the only goal of the contest at St James' Park.

Hwang Hee-chan has been in sparkling form for Wolverhampton Wanderers and should feature on the left flank, while Kim Min-jae of Bayern Munich will lead the defence.

Kadri finds himself in the same situation as his opposite number, with the Tunisia coach able to select an identical team from the Botswana victory.

However, on that occasion, captain Youssef Msakni was selected on the substitutes' bench and eventually came on to score two goals for his nation.

The national team legend should return on the left flank, replacing Sayfallah Ltaief, while Sheffield United's Anis Ben Slimane could join Manchester United's Hannibal Mejbri in midfield.

South Korea possible starting lineup:
Kim; Seol, Kim, Jung, Lee; Hwang, Park; Lee, Son, Hwang; Cho

Tunisia possible starting lineup:
Dahmen; Valery, Talbi, Meriah, Abdi; Ben Slimane, Skhiri, Hannibal; Layouni, Jouini, Msakni

We say: South Korea 1-0 Tunisia

With both teams having recently put together an encouraging run of form, this could prove to be an entertaining encounter. However, we have to side with the hosts, who have looked particularly strong in defence in their latest matches.
