Juventus have missed out on the chance to secure their place in the last 16 of the Champions League in a 1-1 draw against Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night.
The Portuguese giants were ahead in the 20th minute through Bruno Cesar, who rattled home a low shot on the rebound after Gelson Martins's strike was parried by Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Sami Khedira came close to drawing his side level just two minutes later when Mattia De Sciglio's cross found him unmarked just a few yards from goal, but the German headed wide of Rui Patricio's goal.
Juve failed to impose themselves on the game as Sporting dominated the action throughout, continuing to trail well into the second half and struggling to contain visiting attackers Martins and Marcos Acuna.
However, Massimiliano Allegri's charges managed to shatter their opponents' hopes of victory through Gonzalo Higuain, who latched on to Juan Cuadrado's pass in the 70th minute before lifting the ball over Patricio and into the net.
The result keeps Juventus second in Group D with seven points from four games, three ahead of Sporting and three behind leaders Barcelona.
