Gareth Bale has described Tottenham Hotspur's 3-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Europa League as a "worthy result".
The Welshman opened the scoring at White Hart Lane on Thursday as Spurs brushed aside the Italians in the first leg of their last-16 clash.
"We played well and set the tempo from the start and made sure we made it difficult for them and it was a worthy result," Bale is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"It is nice to get a goal and we take a good lead into the away leg."
Bale is suspended for the second leg in Milan next Thursday after he was booked for diving during the first-leg triumph.
