Stoke City keeper Jack Butland has admitted that he was fortunate to escape punishment for his tackle on Andre Ayew in his side's win over Swansea City.
The England international miscued a clearance in the first half and the ball rolled towards the edge of the box, leaving Butland and Ayew in race to win possession.
The 22-year-old slid for the ball and managed to clear the danger, and although his studs were showing, he went unpunished by referee Robert Madley.
Butland told Sky Sports News: "Yeah. It was a miscue – I was trying to play the ball to Glen Johnson and made a bit of a mess.
"That's why I don't do too many tackles. Hopefully I won't be in that position again."
Stoke moved to 11th in the Premier League as a result of their victory at the Liberty Stadium.
