Mark Hughes has challenged his Stoke City players to reach new heights at the club following their 1-0 victory over Hull City.
The Potters moved up to 10th place in the Premier League with the win, 14 points above the relegation zone.
"Today was key psychologically - that we got to that 40-point mark," the manager is quoted as saying by BT Sport. "We are pleased to have got the result today without ever hitting the heights of recent performances.
"It was about getting the job done and we certainly did that. Now we have six games left and we want to see how far we can go. We have totals in our mind which we think are achievable - things we can do that no Stoke City team has done in the Premier League."
Stoke are back in action next weekend when they take on league leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
