Stoke City attacker Jonathan Walters has insisted that there will be no split allegiances when he lines up against Everton this weekend.
Having been born on Merseyside, the Republic of Ireland international grew up supporting the Toffees.
However, the 29-year-old has revealed that he will be giving his all to help his side claim all three points at the expense of his boyhood club.
"Obviously, I will be doing everything I can to help Stoke get the three points," he told Stoke's official website. "After the game I will be hoping that Everton can go on and enjoy a good season, apart from our return fixture of course.
"It's a funny one for the family in some ways because they will be here at the game, and like me, my brothers and dad are Everton supporters, but for this one I'm sure they will be willing me and Stoke on. Well, I'm hoping so anyway."
Despite his connections with Everton, Walters actually came through the youth ranks at Blackburn Rovers.
