Xherdan Shaqiri's Stoke City debut has been delayed due to a suspension being carried over from his time at Inter Milan.
The Switzerland international completed a club-record £12m switch to the Britannia Stadium earlier this week.
Stoke received the adequate international clearance for Shaqiri to feature against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, but clearance from the Italian FA carried a sporting sanction of a one-game ban.
Shaqiri must now sit out one competitive match, which was initially due to be carried over to the Coppa Italia, meaning that he will play no part in the visit to White Hart Lane on Saturday.
