Sunderland striker Fabio Borini has revealed that he is "angry" with his team's failure to put together a run of victories in the Premier League.
The Black Cats defeated Chelsea in the Capital One Cup last week but they have not won in the league since November 10, and Borini has called on the club's supporters to back them during the Christmas period.
The 22-year-old told The Sun: "I'm angry because we want to win and we can't do it in the league.
"At home, we need to show more character and control to win. The fans need to stay with us.
"It's up to us if we stay up or not. The other teams don't win the games for us."
Sunderland are currently four points adrift of safety at the bottom of the league table.
