Sunderland midfielder Jack Rodwell has revealed that he was delighted with his performance on his home debut in his side's 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
The 23-year-old scored the equaliser against Louis van Gaal's side to earn the Black Cats a point, in just his second game for the club following his £10m move from Manchester City this summer.
"It was a hard-earned point," Rodwell told the club's official website. "We came in at half time and we knew it was going to be tough to see the game out but I thought we could have nicked it.
"I thought we played really well and I thought we deserved a point. I also scored a good goal on my debut too so I was really pleased overall."
Sunderland face Birmingham City in their Capital One Cup clash on Wednesday.
