Steve Bruce has identified Sunderland winger Adam Johnson as a transfer target for Hull City ahead of the summer window.
Hull are believed to be considering offering £5m for the 26-year-old, who moved to the Stadium of Light from Manchester City in August 2012.
According to the Daily Mail, Poyet would be prepared to allow Johnson to leave for the right offer as he looks to rebuild his squad ahead of a new campaign.
Johnson had spells in and out of Poyet's side, in part due to changes in formation as the Black Cats managed to avoid relegation with an impressive run of results.
The England international scored 10 goals in all competitions last season.
