Championship strugglers Sunderland are reportedly eyeing up a move for Bolton Wanderers striker Gary Madine in the January transfer window.
The Black Cats are keen to bolster their squad in the New Year following a poor first half to the campaign that has seen them win just two of their 20 league games.
Madine, who has netted six goals in 21 outings for Bolton this term, is said to be one of the players on new boss Chris Coleman's list of targets.
According to the Sunderland Echo, funds will remain tight next month but Coleman is hopeful of pouncing for the 27-year-old, particularly if Lewis Grabban is recalled by parent club Bournemouth.
Madine has been at the Macron Stadium since 2015 and only signed a two-year extension to his deal in May.
