Garry Monk was impressed with how three of his new signings played in Swansea City's 1-0 Capital One Cup victory over Rotherham United on Tuesday.
Tottenham Hotspur midfield loanee Tom Carroll and £8m defender Federicio Fernandez made their debuts as the Welsh club progressed to the third round of a competition that they won two seasons ago.
Bafetimbi Gomis was also handed his first competitive start since arriving on a free transfer earlier this summer, and the French striker scored the only goal on what was a pleasing night for Monk.
"They were all very good," he told reporters. "All strikers want to score and Bafe has that. The goal will give him confidence but he put in a very good shift.
"Federico dealt with the physical side of it as it's a while since he's played a competitive game. I thought he did very well with the rest of the back-four and it was good to see Kyle Bartley do very well too.
"Tom also did well, you could see the footballer in him and we saw some really good passes and movement. He'll get sharper with games."
Swansea have also won both of their opening Premier League games of Monk's first full season in charge.
