Good evening and thank you for joining Sports Mole for live text commentary of the Serie A match between Hellas Verona and Torino at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.

At the beginning of the season, not many people would have predicted either of these sides to be in the top half of the table, but they are both in the hunt for a spot in next year's Europa League.

Hellas Verona have arguably been the biggest surprise package in Italian football this campaign, as they sit in seventh place, after winning promotion from Serie B last season. They are just three points away from Inter Milan in fifth, when many thought that they would be fighting in a relegation battle. Last weekend they came back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with league leaders Juventus.

Torino sit just three points behind them in the table and know that a win this evening will see them switch places with Verona. They had been on a run of four games without defeat, before last weekend's 2-1 reverse to struggling Bologna, and will want to get back on track with a positive result this evening.

When these two sides met back in September, they played out a 2-2 draw. Alessio Cerci twice gave Torino the lead, but Juanito and Vangelis Moras grabbed equalising goals for the visitors in an entertaining match.

One of the main reasons to Verona's great season has been their home form. They have won eight league games at the Stadio Marc'Antonio, and only the top three of Juventus, Roma and Napoli have picked up more points than they have on home soil.

PREDICTION: Verona may have lost three of their last five league matches, but those defeats were against the likes of AC Milan, Roma and Napoli. Their spirited comeback against Juventus last weekend will provide the players with a huge boost, and could spell a return to form this evening. Torino will want to put last week's home defeat against Bologna behind them and recent results away from home suggest that they will provide a tough challenge tonight. I think this match has every chance of being an open and positive encounter, and I can see Verona edging to a 2-1 victory.

KICKOFF! We are underway at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi!

The home side have seen plenty of the ball in the opening stages, and they have tried on a couple of occasions to search out Toni in the attack, with the Torino defence holding firm.

Torino have the first attempt on goal of the match, as Kurtic lets fly from a long way out, but his fierce effort fails to trouble the keeper.

The visitors break at pace and Masiello is slid in down the left wing. He manages to drive the ball across the box and finds Cerci, however the striker's first touch gets away from him and Verona are able to clear.

Over the past four or five minutes Torino have enjoyed a huge amount of the possession and their midfielders look happy to play it amongst themselves and wait for gaps to appear in the opposition backline.

We still haven't seen any meaningful attempts on goal as both teams struggle to break through tight defences. There have been a number of misplaced passes, especially in advanced positions of the pitch.

El Kaddouri shows great pace to burst down the left hand side and into the box, before going down under pressure from Cacciatore, but the referee decides that there was not enough contact to warrant a penalty.

Despite the lack of action in each box, the fans around the Bentegodi are making a huge amount of noise, as they try and encourage their side to show more of an attacking threat.

Iturbe whips a teasing ball in from the right, and it is well cut out by Glik at the near post, who puts the ball behind for a corner.

CHANCE! Verona are inches away from taking the lead. The corner is met by Moras, who gets to the ball before Padelli, but can only direct his header wide.

CHANCE! Torino break forward at pace with Immobile charging down the right wing. He gets to the byline and finds Masiello on the edge of the box, who sees his first-time strike blocked behind by Donadel for a corner.

The attempts on goal from both sides has added some much needed energy into the encounter, and there is more urgency to get the ball forward quicker and find the front men.

YELLOW CARD! El Kaddouri goes down under a challenge from Moras, but the referee feels that it was a dive and hands the Torino man the first booking of the evening.

Iturbe bursts through the midfield before being brought down as he slips the ball to Toni on the edge of the box. The forward works himself a yard of space and gets a shot away, but his attempt lacks the power to trouble the keeper and is comfortably gathered.

Cacciatore almost puts his side in danger as he plays a back pass without looking that Rafael has to rush out and clear, with Cerci inches away from connecting.

PENALTY TO HELLAS VERONA! The home side win a corner and as it is delivered the referee sees a tug on Juanito in the box from Bovo. It looked a harsh call, but they now have a great chance to take the lead.

Toni steps up and makes no mistake from the spot, slotting it into the bottom right hand corner, with Padelli diving the wrong way.

Verona think that they have scored a second as Marques heads in from a free kick, but the Torino defence had all rushed out quickly to catch him offside.

The visitors will feel that they could have done a lot more with the ball in this half, as they have enjoyed huge spells of possession. They have been forced into shooting from range, and Bovo tries his luck with a powerful effort that heads into the keepers hands.

YELLOW CARD! Bovo is shown a deserved card by the referee after hacking down Iturbe, when the winger was in full flight.

After the first 45 minutes the home side have a 1-0 lead thanks to Luca Toni's penalty. There haven't been many chances and surely Torino will have to come out with more attacking intent in the second half.

Torino have seen a huge 60% of the possession, but have rarely troubled their opponents. They have attempted four strikes on goal, yet only one of those has hit the target. Verona haven't fared much better in attack, having registered four attempts, with two finding the target.

If the score stays the same at the end of the match then Verona will move up to sixth in the table, and level on points with Inter Milan. If they were to reach the Europa League next season then it would be a fantastic effort from a team that finished second in Serie B last term.

CHANCE! Cerci twists his way into the box and fires in a powerful effort looking for the far corner, that Rafael manages to beat away.

It has been a positive start to the second half by Torino, and El Kaddouri meets a ball in from the right by Kurtic at the near post, but can't keep his effort down.

The visitors have levelled the scores just four minutes into the second half. Immobile latches onto a ball over the top from El Kaddouri and fires a low strike past Rafael and into the back of the net.

What a turn around by Torino! The ball is whipped in from the left by El Kaddouri and Cerci arrives on the edge of the box to lash a low effort into the bottom corner. This has been some start to the second half by the away side!

CHANCE! Vives is inches away from making it three for Torino, as a corner kick is cleared away to him 25 yards out from goal. He spots the keeper off his line and attempts to lift an effort into the net, but it narrowly goes over the bar.

Torino have made it three, and El Kaddouri gets in on the action. He is found by Cerci on the edge of the box, and fires in a first-time strike that beats Rafael and finds the bottom corner.

CHANCE! The home side come close to pulling a goal back as Toni meets a header inside the six-yard box, but his effort is saved at point blank-range by Padelli.

SUBSTITUTION: The hosts make a change, with Martinho coming on for Cacciatore.

Iturbe does brilliantly to get to the byline before trying to find Toni in the middle, but Glik arrives in time to make a great challenge. Verona should have a corner, but the referee felt that the ball came last of Toni.

Toni goes down in the box after appearing to be tugged back by Bovo, but the referee waves play on. There wasn't much contact and it looked like the striker made the most of that.

CHANCE! Verona have a huge chance to grab a second as Toni latches onto a loose ball inside the box before firing wide of the post. A striker of his quality really should have been able to at least get that attempt on target.

The homes side's defence seems to have gone to sleep as they are caught out by Immobile's ball over the top for Cerci. Rafael saves his team though, as he rushes out quickly off his line to hack the ball clear.

Torino are looking to keep hold of the ball for a spell after a frantic period in the game. They seem content to play it around their midfielders, and if they can look for Cerci or Immobile to get in behind.

DOUBLE SUBSTITUTION: Verona make a double change, as Sala and Marquinho come on for Hallfredsson and Iturbe.

SUBSTITUTION: Torino also change things around, with Meggiorini coming on for Cerci.

The hosts win a free kick on the edge of the box, which is smashed into the wall by Marquinho. The rebound falls to Sala, but the substitute fires his effort well wide.

SUBSTITUTION: Torino make another change, as Farnerud comes on for El Kaddouri.

It looks like Torino have done just enough to win this match, as Toni heads over a corner from a tight angle for Verona.

We are going to have three minutes of stoppage time.

Torino threaten to add a fourth goal as they come forward in numbers, with Kurtic being found just inside the box. He tries to fire a low strike into the bottom corner, but scuffs his effort wide of the post.

A fantastic second half display from Torino has given them the three points against Hellas Verona. Whatever the manager said at half time worked a treat, as his team were good value for their win this evening.

Torino have now climbed above Hellas Verona in the table on goal difference, as they remain in the hunt for a European spot. Meanwhile, Verona have now lost four of their last six league games as they drop to eighth place.
