Watford have reportedly sounded out former Atletico Madrid and Getafe coach Quique Sanchez Flores as they consider replacing head coach Slavisa Jokanovic.
The Hornets have not yet agreed fresh terms with Jokanovic, despite the Serbian guiding the club into the Premier League as Championship runners-up this season.
Reports have suggested that Watford have now opted against offering the 46-year-old a new deal.
The Hertfordshire side have drawn up contingency plans and Quique has emerged as the leading candidate, according to the Daily Mail.
The 50-year-old Spaniard is out of work after quitting Getafe after just two months in charge earlier this year, citing personal reasons.
Flores won the Europa League and Super Cup with Atletico in 2010.
