Wolfsburg boss Dieter Hecking has said that Real Madrid "deserved" to make the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Hecking took his team to the Bernabeu on Tuesday night for the second leg of their quarter-final, holding a 2-0 advantage from the first leg at the Volkswagen Arena last week.
A hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo saw the Spanish giants turn the tie around on home soil, however, and Hecking had no complaints when questioned on the outcome after the match.
"Unfortunately we didn't understand what we had to do - 1-0 was bad goal to give away. But second unstoppable, third too. Real Madrid deserved to go through," Hecking told reporters.
This season, Wolfsburg reached the knockout round of the Champions League on just their second ever appearance in the competition.
