Zenit St Petersburg have recorded their third successive victory in Group H with a 3-1 victory over Lyon in the Champions League this evening.
The hosts pounced on a third-minute mistake by Christophe Jallet to go ahead, as Artyom Dzyuba coolly finished Oleg Shatov's precise through-ball from 18 yards out.
The visitors almost levelled midway through the half as Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa sent a powerful volley towards goal, but Mikhail Kerzhakov kept it out.
Dzyuba then scuffed a shot over the bar under pressure before Anthony Lopes tipped a strong Hulk strike wide.
Four minutes after the break Alexandre Lacazette made it 1-1 with an audacious flick with his heel from Jallet's volleyed cross.
However, the visitors were level for less than 10 minutes as Hulk span on the halfway line before motoring towards goal and slamming a 30-yard shot inside the post.
Dzyuba lifted a one-on-one chance over Lopes in the 67th minute, but the ball bounced inches wide of the near post.
Samuel Umtiti rattled the crossbar as Lyon pushed for an equaliser, but Danny sealed the three points for Zenit with a simple finish following an incisive breakaway.
