Sale Sharks have secured a place in the final of the LV= Cup with a 21-15 win over Saracens this afternoon.
Ben Spencer kicked Saracens ahead early in the first half, but Tom Holmes crossed the try line just before half time to reduce the visitors' lead to one point at the break.
Both sides were strong defensively at the start of the second half, with neither threatening to add a try.
A bright spell from Sale resulted in a scrum for the home side five metres from the try line, allowing Nathan Fowles to take the ball over the whitewash to put the Sharks ahead.
Danny Cipriani added a penalty in the final three minutes to give Sale a six-point cushion and seal their place in next Sunday's final against Harlequins.
