Burnley have recorded a comfortable 2-0 success away at Fleetwood Town as they continue to prepare for life back in the Championship.
The Clarets edged into the lead on the quarter-hour mark through Stephen Ward who, after seeing his initial effort saved, converted the rebound from close range.
The visitors were acquitting themselves well, and they doubled their lead on 25 minutes when Marvin Sordell scored from the spot after he had been brought down inside the area.
Antoni Sarcevic almost pulled a goal back for the home side on 29 minutes but after rounding Tom Heaton, he could only send his shot across goal.
After a slow start to the second half, Burnley created two chances inside a minute but neither Lukas Jutkiewicz nor Michael Kightly could beat Chris Maxwell in the Fleetwood goal.
Chances continued to be few and far between as both managers opted to shuffle their packs, but it will be Sean Dyche who is the more satisfied of the two bosses after a solid performance from his side.
