Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker has admitted that he and his teammates can only blame themselves for their relegation from the Premier League.
Off-the-field incidents have plagued the Bluebirds this season, with owner Vincent Tan at the heart of many of them, including the sacking of Malky Mackay in December.
However, Caulker is adamant that their performances haven't been good enough to avoid the drop, which was confirmed following their 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.
"Yeah, there's been the antics off the pitch," Caulker told reporters. "I think we're strong characters in there.
"I think everyone managed to block it out and just focused on what we were doing on the pitch. But we've got to hold our hands up, there's definitely no excuses for the way we've performed in too many games."
Cardiff are 20th in the Premier League with 30 points from 37 games this season.
