Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup clash with Manchester City.
Sports Mole

Chelsea will be looking to return to winning ways on Wednesday evening when they travel to Manchester City in the third round of the EFL Cup.

The Blues have lost their last two Premier League games against Brighton & Hove Albion and Arsenal, which has seen them drop into seventh position in the table.

Graham Potter's side will now take on the English champions in the EFL Cup before travelling to an in-form Newcastle United in the league on Saturday evening.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Man City, who have won this competition on eight occasions.

Ben Chilwell

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

England international Ben Chilwell was forced off against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League last week due to a hamstring problem, which will rule him out of the World Cup.

N'Golo Kante

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

N'Golo Kante is another player to be ruled out of the World Cup after recently undergoing thigh surgery, and he will not be available for selection until the early stages of 2023.

Wesley Fofana

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Wesley Fofana is still out with the serious knee injury that he sustained against AC Milan in the Champions League, and he will also not be back for the Blues until next year.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: Unknown

Kepa Arrizabalaga suffered a foot injury in the defeat to Brighton, which has seen him miss his side's last two games, and Potter is not expecting to have him available before the break for the World Cup.

Reece James

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Reece James is still hopeful of recovering from a knee injury in time for the World Cup, but it is more likely that he will make his return for Chelsea in the early stages of next year.

Carney Chukwuemeka

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: November 9 (vs. Manchester City)

Chelsea have been without Carney Chukwuemeka for their last two games due to a hamstring problem, but the summer arrival has a chance of being back in the squad for this match.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no players suspended for this match.
