Colon will be back in action on Sunday as they aim to continue their five-match undefeated streak when they host Racing Club.
With just three points between the two teams in the Argentine Primera Division, there is plenty to play for in this match as the visitors aim to extend the gap.
Match preview
Colon have been putting together a strong run of form as of late with five matches in a row without defeat, injecting a lot more confidence into the squad.
However, four of those games have finished in draws which is something that has hampered their ability to progress up the division, which is why they currently sit 19th in the table.
Colon are the draw specialists of the entire division as they have picked up twelve throughout their 21 games so far, and that is something that the team needs to work on.
While they have proven themselves to be tough to break down and defeat, the inability to turn some of those results into three points has become a frustrating situation for the team.
Eric Meza's goal early on in the second half last weekend was not enough to give Colon the victory, conceding less than 10 minutes after which highlights the need for improvement.
The visitors sit three points above their opponents in the league table, giving them the chance to extend the gap while potentially climbing the table themselves.
Racing Club have the possibility of finishing the weekend in 11th place, but to do that they will be relying upon other results to go in their favour.
Fernando Gago's men will need to showcase an improvement in their form on the road, though, as they have only won two matches on the road so far this season.
A problem for Racing Club so far this season is the fact that they have struggled defensively, conceding 30 goals across their first 21 matches.
However, that was something that they addressed in their most recent outing with a 4-0 victory that showcased their attacking qualities as well as their ability to defend.
Team News
Colon captain Paolo Goltz was able to return from his foot injury last weekend which was a boost to the defensive side of the team, and he should start once again this weekend.
The hosts could also welcome back Santiago Pierotti on Sunday as well after serving a suspension for too many yellow cards.
Matias Rojas and Gabriel Hauche should both be in the Racing Club team after scoring last weekend, providing plenty of width in the attack.
However, the visitors do have several injury problems to deal with as Nicolas Reniero, Emiliano Vecchio, Leonel Miranda and Johan Carbonero are all out of action.
Leonardo Sigali was able to feature in their most recent outing, though, providing a welcome boost to the squad.
Colon possible starting lineup:
Chicco; Garces, Nardelli, Delgado; Meza, Perlaza, Picco, Alvarez, Schott; Pierotti, Abila
Racing Club possible starting lineup:
Tagliamonte; Mura, Aviles, Piovi, Rojas; Nardoni, Moreno, Oroz; Moralez, Romero, Rodriguez
We say: Colon 0-2 Racing Club
Colon might have the home advantage heading into this match, but Racing Club showcased a brilliant performance in their most recent outing which should allow them to kick on and take all three points this weekend.
