Newcastle United midfielder Rolando Aarons has reportedly rejected the chance to move on loan to Hull City in favour of joining Italian side Hellas Verona.
Championship strugglers Hull were hopeful of bringing the 22-year-old to the KCOM Stadium until the end of the season on deadline day, but the player is understood to have turned down the proposed move.
Sky Sports News reports that Aarons instead wants to join Serie A outfit Hellas Verona, who currently sit 19th in the Italian top flight.
The England Under-20 international, who came through the ranks at Newcastle, has made just five appearances and two starts for the Magpies across all competitions this season, with injury troubles contributing to him falling down the pecking order for Rafael Benitez.
Aarons made his debut for Newcastle in August 2014 and has gone on to make 27 senior appearances for the club, scoring four goals.
