A Tommy Smith goal has given Ipswich Town a 1-0 half-time lead over Leeds United at Elland Road.
Neither side were able to carve out a chance for much of the opening 45 minutes, but Lewis Cook had a penalty shout turned down on nine minutes.
Mirco Antenucci had the game's first chance on 26 minutes as the Italian striker fired a 20-yard effort, but his shot was deflected into the hands of Ipswich goalkeeper Dean Gerken.
Leeds started to dominate the match as Gaetano Berardi tried a long-range effort, but his shot went well wide.
The visitors took the lead against the run of play after 32 minutes, as Leeds keeper Marco Silvestri failed to deal with an Ipswich corner, and Smith met the ball with a header.
Ipswich came close to doubling their lead before the break through David McGoldrick, but his effort went harmlessly over the bar.
