Liverpool are reportedly prepared to re-enter the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham if the player remains in Germany for another season.
The 19-year-old has been the topic of plenty of transfer discussion since moving to Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020, with the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Jurgen Klopp's Reds interested in the England international.
Bellingham has been a key part of a Dortmund side that have been pushing perennial champions Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga title race this season, featuring in 27 league matches so far this season.
According to Football Insider, Liverpool are prepared to re-enter the hunt to sign Bellingham next summer, given that the midfielder decides to extend his stay at Dortmund past the conclusion of this campaign.
The report adds that the Liverpool board felt the financial package needed to secure the player's services this summer would have been too risky, but they would be less concerned about doing a deal for Bellingham next year if the club managed to qualify for the Champions League.
It is said the Reds' recruitment team would prefer to make multiple signings in this upcoming window instead of spending their budget solely on Bellingham, with names such as Alexis Mac Allister and Mason Mount on their shortlist.
Liverpool will attempt to keep their faint top-four hopes alive on Monday night when they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United in the Premier League. body check tags ::
