Manchester United can equal an FA Cup record if they beat Brighton & Hove Albion in their semi-final clash on Sunday.
Victory for Erik ten Hag's side at Wembley will see the club reach a 21st FA Cup final, matching the record currently held by Arsenal.
No team has reached as many semi-finals as United, with this being their 31st in the competition, but after winning 13 in a row between 1976 and 2007, the Red Devils have now lost three of their last five at this stage.
Their last FA Cup semi came against Chelsea in 2020 when they were beaten 3-1, and their recent record against Brighton is a concern, having lost their last two against the Seagulls.
That could scupper Man United's hopes of reaching both domestic cup finals in the same season for just the third time, and for the first time since 1994.
Brighton will need to make history of their own though to reach the showpiece occasion at the end of the season, as the club have never won a competitive fixture at Wembley.
Albion's most recent visit came in the 2019 FA Cup semi-final where they were beaten by United's rivals Manchester City. body check tags ::
