Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between Millwall and Reading, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

After taking one point from their last two matches, Millwall will be looking for a response when they play host to Reading on Saturday.

In contrast to their hosts, the Royals are aiming to clinch a third consecutive victory after beating Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough in their last two outings.

Match preview

Millwall have had a steady start to the Championship season, collecting seven points from their opening five matches.

After recording two league wins this term, the Lions enter Saturday's contest in 10th position, but they have failed to win their last two matches.

Although a 2-2 away draw against Swansea City would have felt like a victory after two own goals in stoppage time helped the Lions snatch a point.

However, they were unable to build upon their dramatic comeback against Norwich City last weekend, with a Josh Sargent brace condemning them to a 2-0 defeat.

Although Millwall are winless in their last nine away league games, they have the chance to claim a sixth consecutive home win in the Championship on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Reading are two points better off than their hosts, leaving them in third place ahead of Saturday's away trip.

The Royals began the season with three defeats in their opening four matches in all competitions, but they have responded in their previous two games.

Paul Ince's side cruised past Blackburn Rovers via a 3-0 scoreline after Tom McIntyre, Junior Hoilett and Lucas Joao grabbed a goal apiece.

The Royals followed their comprehensive victory over Blackburn with a narrow 1-0 win against Middlesbrough last weekend, which came courtesy of Tyrese Fornah's first-half effort.

After winning their last two home matches, Reading will attempt to claim their first away victory of the season on Saturday.

Team News

A hamstring problem will prevent Mason Bennett from featuring for Millwall on Saturday, although Tom Bradshaw is available after he returned from injury to be included in last weekend's squad.

Bradshaw was an unused substitute against Norwich, but the 30-year-old could be brought into the starting lineup to partner Benik Afobe up front.

Jake Cooper and Charlie Cresswell both dropped out of the side for the Norwich encounter, but Gary Rowett could include the pair in Saturday's starting XI.

As for Reading, they are unable to call upon Ovie Ejaria and Femi Azeez, who are both unavailable with hamstring injuries.

Liam Moore, Yakou Meite and Scott Dann are also sidelined, while Sam Hutchinson is a doubt after being withdrawn last weekend due to an injury issue.

If Hutchinson is unable to feature on Saturday then John Clarke could come into the side to start alongside Tom Holmes and McIntyre in a back three.

Millwall possible starting lineup:
Bialkowski; Cresswell, Cooper, Wallace; McNamara, Saville, Mitchell, Malon; Honeyman; Bradshaw, Afobe

Reading possible starting lineup:
Bouzanis; Holmes, McIntyre, Clarke; Yiadom, Fornah, Hendrick, Loum, Hoilett; Ince, Long

We say: Millwall 2-1 Reading

Although Reading have won their last two matches, we think that a Millwall side that have won their last five Championship games will edge out the Royals on Saturday.
