A goal in each half from Henrik Mkhitaryan helped Shakhtar Donetsk begin their Champions League campaign with a comfortable win over Danish debutants Nordsjaelland at the Donbass Arena.
Mkhitaryan opened the scoring on 44 minutes with a precise low right-footed drive from eight yards, following a good through-pass by Luiz Adriano.
Shakhtar doubled their lead 14 minutes from time when the Armenian midfielder rounded off a fast counter-attack with a simple finish from 10 yards.
Elsewhere in Group E, Chelsea and Juventus drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.
