Sunderland have offered fans who attended the team's recent 8-0 defeat at Southampton a ticket refund.
The Black Cats were humiliated at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday as they were thrashed by the Saints in the Premier League.
Those supporters who do not wish to claim their money back will have the cost of their ticket donated to Sunderland-based children's hospice Grace House.
"We win and lose as a team: players, staff and fans," captain John O'Shea told the club's official website. "However, we wanted to acknowledge and thank the supporters who travelled such a long way to give us their backing and, despite everything, stayed with us until the final whistle."
Fans have been advised to contact the club by 5pm on November 5 if they wish to claim a refund.
