Sports Mole brings you live text commentary of the Championship match between Millwall and Watford at the Den.

Watford kept alive their hopes of automatic promotion from the Championship by beating struggling Millwall 2-0 at the Den this afternoon.

Matej Vydra gave the visitors the lead when he met Ikechi Anya's cross on the edge of the box and volleyed a strike into the bottom corner.

They scored a second goal shortly after the break when Adlene Guedioura tapped in from another Anya assist and it proved to be enough to wrap up the three points.

Find out how the action unfolded below.

Good afternoon everyone! Our Championship coverage this afternoon continues with a match that could have huge consequences at both ends of the table. Watford are firmly in the hunt for an automatic promotion place, but they could find it tough against a Millwall side desperately trying to avoid relegation.
Watford come into the match in good form and they will be looking to keep up the pressure on league leaders Bournemouth by snatching all the points. They temporarily moved up to the top of the league with a win against Middlesbrough in their last match and you get the feeling that anything less than a win today will seriously damage their hopes of going straight up.
At the opposite end of the table are Millwall, who really have had a terrible season. However, they have picked up five points in their last three games and a win against London rivals Charlton has given them the slightest chance of survival. If they were to win today, then they could move to within four points of Rotherham and they would also have a game in hand.
TEAM NEWS: Watford have made a couple of changes for this afternoon's game, with Matej Vydra and Matthew Connolly replacing Odion Ighalo and Craig Cathcart. There's just one change for Millwall, as Mark Beevers replaces Jos Hooiveld in the back four.
MILLWALL XI: Forde, Cummings, Nelson, Beevers, Harding, Upson, Abdou, Williams, Woolford, O'Brien, Gregory
WATFORD XI: Gomes, Connolly, Angella, Hoban, Paredes, Watson, Tozser, Guedioura, Anya, Vydra, Deeney
MILLWALL SUBS: Archer, Dunne, Bailey, Martin, Gueye, Taylor-Fletcher, Maierhofer
WATFORD SUBS: Bond, Munari, Layun, Pudil, Abdi, Ighalo, Motta
With just over 10 minutes until kick off, make sure you check out our video preview of today's clash from the guys down at Sports Mole HQ.

Watford may not have been many people's first choice for promotion at the start of the season, given that they finished a distant 13th in the Championship last time around, but they are well placed for a Premier League return. They have won six out of their last nine and with a favourable looking run in they have every chance.
You would expect the Hornets to pick up all three points this afternoon, but the Championship has thrown up some astonishing results this season. It won't be easy for them against Millwall, who are fighting for their life. They are seven points away from safety and look domed, but with Fulham and Rotherham in poor form just ahead of them, Neil Harris will want his side to take advantage and try to pull off what would be one of the great escapes.
In this season's revere fixture, Watford unsparingly came out on top with a 3-1 win. Scott McDonald had given Millwall an early lead, before Matej Vydra levelled the scores. Daniel Tozser then fired in a free kick to give the Hornets the lead at the break and Gianni Munari's second-half strike sealed the three points.
KICKOFF! We are underway at the Den!
CHANCE! With barely a minute on the clock the visitors almost take the lead. Deeney latches onto Tozser's ball over the top, but he is denied his 21st goal of the season by a good save from Forde.
As you would expect, it's all Watford in the opening stages of this match and they are enjoying plenty of possession in their opponents' half of the pitch. Deeney has already shown his threat and perhaps the Hornets skipper should have found the net already.
The hosts are almost in behind when Gregory shows good pace to get in behind Angella but Gomes rushes quickly off his line to save at the feet of the striker.
Millwall have had a couple of bright openings already and it's Gregory who threatens again following a corner. Watford fail to clear and the ball lands to him kindly inside the box, but after taking a decent touch, he spins and fires well wide of the post.
SHOT! Despite Millwall's early promise, they look shaky at the back and Deeney has another glimpse of goal. This time Guedioura whips the ball into the box and Deeney pounces to head an effort goalwards. It has Forde well beaten, but it ends up dropping over the bar.
UPDATE: Here's a massive goal to tell you about from one of Watford's rivals for a promotion spot. Norwich are away at Bolton and they are already 1-0 up thanks to a strike from Dorrans. As things stand, that will lift the Canaries two points above Watford in the table, but there is still plenty of football to be played this afternoon.
PENALTY APPEAL! MIllwall feel that they should have a spot kick when Upson goes down inside the box under a challenge from Watson. It did look like a clumsy attempt to win the ball from the Watford man, but the referee felt that there was not enough contact between the players and waves play on.
Almost a calamity at the back for the hosts, as Forde kicks the ball straight against the head of Nelson. Fortunately for Millwall, it rebounds to safety and they aren't made to pay, but the defender may have a bit of a headache.
UPDATE: Good news for Watford fans, as Bolton have levelled things up with Norwich. Le Fondre's goal has made it 1-1 at the Macron and I'm sure we'll see more twists and turns from that game today.
This has been a really good spell in the game for Millwall, who are getting into some promising areas. They are putting the Watford defence under a great deal of pressure, but as yet they have not been able to seriously test Gomes.
GOAL! Millwall 0-1 Watford (Matej Vydra)
Despite Millwall's positive start, it's Watford who take the lead thanks to an absolute beauty from Vydra. The Czech is picked out by Anya on the edge of the box and he guides a sweetly struck volley into the bottom corner that leaves Forde with no chance.
SHOT! It looks as if Watford have hit their stride this afternoon and they quickly threaten a second goal. This time it's good play down the right from Paredes and he whips in a ball to Watson on the edge of the box, who smashes his strike over the bar.
Anya has already set up the goal this afternoon and he is looking extremely dangerous down the left. Once again he breaks free and gets into a position to whip a low ball across the face of goal, but none of his teammates had gambled and it ends up going harmlessly out of play.
Millwall have just seen a little more of the ball in the past couple of minutes and Harris is urging his players to push forward. They have managed to work the ball into a couple of good crossing areas, but their final delivery has really let them down.
SHOT! This is a very cheeky attempt on goal from Upson. The hosts win a free kick out wide on the left and they have plenty of players in the box. Upson takes the set piece and instead of opting to cross the ball, he tries to catch Gomes out with a strike on goal, but he gets far too much on it and sends it over the top.
CHANCE! Huge, huge chance for Millwall. Woolford finds space in the box and with Gomes coming out to close him down, he has the chance to cross into the middle. However, he plays a poor pass and Watford manage to clear. He is then given another chance soon after when the ball drops kindly to him on the edge of the box, but his half-volley is held by Gomes.
Watford certainly haven't had it all their own way in this first half, but you just feel that they have more goals in them. As for Millwall, they have got into some really good areas, but they have lacked that clinical finishing touch in front of goal.
SAVE! Abdou comes close pulling Millwall level right at the end of the half, as he is teed up by Woolford and looks to guide a low strike into the bottom corner. There was not much power on the effort, but it still required Gomes to scramble across his line and tip the ball behind.
We're going to have just one minute added on to the end of this first half.
HALF-TIME: Millwall 0-1 Watford
We've reached half time at the Den and it's all going according to plan for Watford. A superb goal from Matej Vydra has given them a 1-0 lead and as things stand, they will finish the afternoon second in the Championship.
Watford are good value for their lead, although with 55% of the possession, the hosts have seen slightly more of the ball. It's pretty even in the shots department, with Watford forcing six attempts on goal compared to five from Millwall, but the home side have just lacked that killer edge in the box.
Here's how things are looking at the top of the Championship. If they hang on to claim the points, then Watford will move up to second place, where they will be just a point behind leaders Bournemouth. Norwich and Middlesbrough are just behind and those two are being held at the midway point of their fixtures today.
The two teams have just reemerged from their dressing rooms, meaning that we are just a few moments away from the start of the second half.
Millwall take the kick off for the second half and get us back underway in South East London!
Deeney came close to scoring at the start of the match and he is almost in again here. A mix up at the back sees the ball rebound into the striker's direction, but Forde is quickly out to smother at his feet before he can get a shot away.
CLOSE! Williams is a whisker away from scoring a fine goal for Millwall. It comes from a free kick that he looks to curl into the top corner, but it swings narrowly wide with Gomes looking well beaten.
YELLOW CARD! Harding is shown the first booking of the afternoon for a poor tackle on Guedioura.
GOAL! Millwall 0-2 Watford (Adlene Guedioura)
Watford have not shown too much threat since the break, but they look well on their way to the three points now after doubling their lead. Deeney is played in down the left and he holds the ball up before waiting for Anya to arrive. The Scot then delivers a low pass across the box to Guedioura, who has the simplest of tasks of sliding the ball into the net from just a few yards out.
SUBSTITUTION: Millwall respond to that goal by bringing on Gueye for Woolford.
SUBSTITUTION: Watford are also making a change, with Anya, who has set up both goals today, heading off to be replaced by Abdi.
Millwall were actually causing Watford plenty of problems before that goal from Guedioura, but it just seems to have knocked the stuffing out of them. It's hard to see them pulling off a comeback, but a goal inside the next 10 minutes or so would make things interesting.
CHANCE! What was I just saying! The hosts very nearly get on the scoresheet when O'Brien breaks into the box and finds himself one-on-one with Gomes. He has plenty of time to think about the strike, but he fires it straight at the keeper and another chance goes begging.
SUBSTITUTION: It's a second change for the home side, as Martin comes on for Abdou.
The Hornets almost bag a third goal when Vydra springs the offside trap and bursts into the box. Forde rushes off his line quickly though and manages to claim the ball before the Watford player could get it under his spell.
SUBSTITUTION: Last throw of the dice for Millwall, as Maierhofer comes on for Harding.
YELLOW CARD! Millwall pick up their second booking of the match when Nelson goes flying in with a challenge on Abdi. It wasn't the best attempt at a tackle and I've seen those end in red cards before.
CHANCE! Gueye has a sight of goal when he is found by Martin at the back post in plenty of space. He then looks to volley a first-time effort past Gomes, but he completely mishits the ball and it ends up looping up and onto the roof of the net.
YELLOW CARD! The cards are starting to pile up now and Beevers is their latest player to be booked.
CHANCE! Gueye has another decent opening for the hosts after bursting onto a through ball down the left-hand side of the box. He doesn't have many options in the middle so decides to drill in a low strike, but he hits it straight at Gomes who comfortably makes the save.
SUBSTITUTION: It's a second change of the match for Watford, as Ighalo comes on for Vydra.
CHANCE! Ighalo very nearly adds a third for for the visitors when he bursts onto a ball over the top and takes it down on his chest, before seeing his close-range strike well-saved by Forde.
CHANCE! It's another chance for Watford and this time Deeney is found on the edge of the box. The striker has plenty of time to pick his spot, but he smashes it straight down the middle and it is beaten away by the keeper.
SHOT! Within the space of three minutes Watford have had three really good chances to further extend their lead. This latest effort falls to Anya, who is slipped in down the right-hand side of the box, but with just the keeper to beat, he tamely lifts a strike towards the far post that is well off target.
We're going to have at least four minutes of stoppage time.
SUBSTITUTION: Third and final change for Watford, as Motta replaces Paredes deep into added time.
FULL-TIME: Millwall 0-2 Watford
It's all over at the Den and Watford have claimed three valuable points in their quest for promotion. Goals in each half from Matej Vydra and Adlene Guedioura mean that they keep up the pressure on Norwich and Bourmenouth. Norwich have actually claimed a 2-1 win over Bolton, so it means that Watford will end the afternoon third in the Championship.
That's all from me after what has been another enthralling day of Championship football. There's plenty more live coverage throughout the weekend so make sure you stick around for that. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Goodbye!
