Watford come from a goal down to claim a 2-1 win against Leicester City in Tuesday's Premier League clash at Vicarage Road.

Watford have come from behind to claim a 2-1 win against Leicester City in Tuesday's Premier League clash at Vicarage Road.

The visitors were dominant in the early stages of the encounter as Shinji Okazaki headed goalwards from Ben Chilwell's cross to force a fingertip save from Heurelho Gomes, before Jamie Vardy sliced wide when clean through on goal.

However, Claude Puel's side did not let their heads drop and were rewarded with a goal in the 37th minute as Marc Albrighton clipped the ball to the back post for Riyad Mahrez to head it back across Gomes and into the net.

Minutes later, Richarlison wasted a gilt-edged chance when he rounded Kasper Schmeichel but found only the side-netting with the goal at his mercy.

Nonetheless, Watford did manage to find an equaliser before half time when Tom Cleverley's corner caused havoc and eventually fell to Molla Wague, who steered home for a goal on his first Hornets start.

Marco Silva's side then struck what turned out to be the winner in the 65th minute when Abdoulaye Doucoure connected with Cleverley's deep free kick and, although Schmeichel got a hand to it, could not stop the ball from sneaking over the line.

The result ensures three crucial points for Watford to end a run of six without a win, while Leicester continue to stutter after their second defeat in three games.

Watford (4-3-3): Gomes; Janmaat, Wague, Kabasele, Zeegelaar; Cleverley, Watson (Prodl 87'), Doucoure; Carrillo (Sinclair 90'), Richarlison, Pereyra (Okaka 44').

Leicester City (4-4-2): Schmeichel; Dragovic (Gray 73'), Maguire, Morgan, Chilwell; Mahrez, King (Ulloa 84'), Albrighton, Ndidi; Okazaki (Slimani 73'), Vardy.
