Relegation-threatened Getafe will attempt to record consecutive victories when they welcome European-chasing Osasuna to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Sunday.
While the hosts are battling to retain their top-flight status, Osasuna are hoping to secure qualification to the Europa Conference League.
Match preview
Jose Bordalas's side may not be known for their eye-catching performances, but the 59-year-old has carved out a credible reputation for grinding out points, and he has done exactly that since returning to Getafe for a second spell at the end of April.
In his first five games, Bordalas has overseen two wins, one draw and two defeats, and his side will be in a buoyant mood after they claimed a crucial 1-0 away win over Real Betis last weekend.
Getafe travelled to the Estadio Benito Villamarin off the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw with relegated Elche, but that underwhelming result was quickly forgotten, as the Azulones claimed all three points thanks to Omar Alderete's second-half winner.
The result moved Getafe out of the drop zone and up to 16th place, but with seven teams fighting for survival, there is still work to do if they are to extend their stay in the top flight into a seventh consecutive season.
As they prepare for Sunday's fixture, the Azulones will be encouraged by the fact that they are unbeaten in their last seven La Liga meetings with Osasuna, and they have the chance to claim a league double over their opponents after winning 2-0 in the reverse fixture.
After reaching the Copa del Rey final for just the second time in their history, the 2022-23 season will be fondly remembered by Osasuna supporters.
However, the campaign could still get better if Osasuna can bring European football to El Sadar for the first time since 2006-07 when they reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup.
Osasuna managed to replace Athletic Bilbao in the top seven in midweek, claiming a 2-0 victory over Los Leones thanks to second-half efforts from Ante Budimir and Lucas Torro.
With six points separating them from sixth-placed Real Betis, Los Rojillos can still mathematically qualify for the Europa League due to their better head-to-head record, but their main priority will be to keep hold of seventh position and book their place in next season's Europa Conference League.
Jagoba Arrasate's side are currently being chased by five teams that could still overtake them in the final two matches, and while they will be hoping to maintain their current position with three points on Sunday, they have only picked up one win in their last five away league games.
Team News
Getafe suffered a major injury blow in the win over Betis after their top scorer Enes Unal sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Mauro Arambarri missed the midweek contest with an ankle problem, and he remains a doubt for Sunday, while Carles Alena is suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
With Unal and Alena dropping out of the side, Juanmi Latasa and Munir El Haddadi could be brought into the starting XI.
As for the visitors, there are question marks surrounding the fitness of Juan Cruz, Moi Gomez and Nacho Vidal, while Darko Brasanac is a long-term injury absentee.
Kike Garcia is likely to come into the side to replace Budimir, who will serve a one-match suspension after he received his fifth yellow card of the league campaign in the win over Athletic.
Chimy Avila dropped down to the bench in midweek, but the 29-year-old could return to the starting lineup on Sunday.
Getafe possible starting lineup:
Soria; Suarez, Mitrovic, Alderete, Alvarez; Portu, Djene, Maksimovic, Munir; Mata, Latasa
Osasuna possible starting lineup:
Fernandez; Pena, D. Garcia, Hernandez, Sanchez; Moncayola, Torro, Oroz; Avila, Abde, Kike
We say: Getafe 2-1 Osasuna
Although Osasuna have won their last two home games, their recent away form has been far less encouraging, having won just one of their last six away matches in La Liga.
Getafe, meanwhile, have won their previous two home meetings with Osasuna, and we think that they will make full use of the support at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez to clinch a narrow win on Sunday.
