Sports Mole

Hibernian will attempt to get back to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership when they take on Ross County at Easter Road on Tuesday.

The hosts come into this one off the back of a loss to Aberdeen, while Ross County travel to Edinburgh fresh from a victory over St Mirren.

Match preview

Hibernian find themselves in a decent position in the Premiership with 14 matches played, sitting fourth in the table on 20 points under manager Lee Johnson.

The Hibees have lost just once on home soil this campaign from seven matches, with their only defeat at Easter Road in the league coming against St Johnstone last month.

Nevertheless, Hibernian have run into a sticky patch of form losing four of their last five matches which will need to improve if they want to keep pace in their hunt for continental qualification.

Last time out, they were on the end of a 4-1 thrashing to Aberdeen, with a double from Bojan Miovski and strikes from Ylber Ramadani and Leighton Clarkson proving more than enough to cancel out a Mykola Kukharevych reply.

Johnson will be hoping for some better luck against Ross County as his side seek to put an end to a run of poor results.

Ross County enter the fray occupying 11th position in the Scottish Premiership following a difficult start to life this campaign.

They scored the fewest goals in the division with just 10 efforts converted in 14 matches, demonstrating their lack of a talismanic figure in the final third.

Nonetheless, Malky Mackay managed to lift the Staggies off the foot of the league in their last outing with a crucial 3-2 victory over St Mirren at the Global Energy Stadium.

In a dramatic affair, goals from Jordan White, Jordan Tillson and George Harmon secured a vital three points for the hosts, in spite of efforts from Ryan Strain and Mark O'Hara for the visitors.

On Tuesday, Ross County will look to take another step in the right direction as they aim to climb out of the relegation playoff spot.

Team News

Martin Boyle is a doubt for Hibernian due to a knee injury, though is expected to be fit again before the World Cup, while Kevin Nisbet is still on the sidelines due to a long-term concern.

Lewis Miller, Momodou Bojang, Aiden McGeady and Jake Doyle-Hayes are all absentees for the hosts as they battle their way back to fitness and may not be available until the league resumption in December.

Marijan Cabraja and Ryan Porteous are at risk of suspension should they pick up a booking in the clash.

Ross County will have to make the journey to Easter Road without Ben Paton and Ross Callachan as the pair recover from respective injuries.

Alex Samuel is another who will not take part against Hibernian, while Ben Purrington is also not in contention owing to an ankle issue. Jack Baldwin is at risk of suspension if he accumulates a yellow card during the match.

Hibernian possible starting lineup:
Marshall; Porteous, Bushiri, Hanlon; Cadden, Henderson, Kenneh, Newell, Cabraja; Magennis, Kukharevych

Ross County possible starting lineup:
Laidlaw; Johnson, Baldwin, Iacovitti, Harmon; Tillson, Cancola; Edwards, Dhanda, Hiwula; White

We say: Hibernian 1-0 Ross County

In what will be a tight game, both sides will be wary of dropping points and will look to keep it tight at the back resulting in a cagey 90 minutes.

In spite of this, Hibernian will be the ones to find the breakthrough and secure a narrow victory at the hands of visitors Ross County.
