Premier League predictions gameweek 31: The Mysterines' Paul Crilly vs. Sports Mole

:Headline: Premier League predictions gameweek 31: The Mysterines' Paul Crilly vs. Sports Mole:
Sports Mole takes on The Mysterines drummer and Everton fan Paul Crilly for a Premier League predictions challenge in gameweek 31 of the 2023-24 season.

A bonus midweek round of Premier League fixtures is headlined by two fallen English giants as Chelsea welcome Manchester United to Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.

Both sides will be casting envious glances up to the top end of the table, with the coming days promising to be another important spell in an increasingly fascinating title race.

Results over the weekend left Liverpool as front-runners to lift the title in May, and they will be firm favourites to hold on to that advantage this week when they host rock-bottom Sheffield United in Thursday's other game.

However, they could have been knocked off top spot by the time they kick off, with Arsenal entertaining Luton Town and Manchester City at home to fourth-placed Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Brentford take on Brighton & Hove Albion in Wednesday's other game, while there are also five matches on Tuesday evening, including a London derby between bitter rivals West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Each gameweek, Sports Mole is taking on a famous musician or band in a prediction competition, and this week it is the turn of The Mysterines drummer and Everton fan Paul Crilly.

Paul Crilly Q&A

How did you come to support Everton and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?

The majority of my family are Everton fans so I was getting dragged along to Goodison Park as soon as I was able to walk.

The first season of Roberto Martinez's time as manager was probably the most exciting time to be an Everton fan. We had a load of great young players in Lukaku, Barkley and Stones. We just missed out on Champions League but it felt like we were going in the right direction, how wrong I was. Ancelotti getting appointed is up there too but I'm not 100% sure that actually happened or if it was some sort of weird fever dream.

Who have been your favourite five players for your club?

Leighton Baines, Seamus Coleman, Duncan Ferguson, Steven Pienaar, Tony Hibbert.

What's going on with the band at the moment?

We have our new album 'Afraid Of Tomorrows' coming out on June 7, a load of festivals this summer and an UK and Europe tour this October.

Check out 'Stray', the latest release from The Mysterines, available on all digital streaming platforms now.
