Sports Mole

Off the back of a first defeat in seven matches last time out, PEC Zwolle will do battle against Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven at the MAC3PARK Stadion on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the away side make the journey aiming to complete a league double over their hosts following an emphatic 4-0 victory in the reverse meeting.

Match preview

PSV Eindhoven played out a 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie at the Philips Stadion on Tuesday.

Peter Bosz's men trailed to Donyell Malen's 24th-minute opener before restoring parity from the penalty spot thanks to leading goalscorer Luuk de Jong.

Prior to that, De Rood-witten claimed a 2-0 win over Heracles Almelo on Friday to maintain their 10-point advantage over Feyenoord at the top of the Eredivisie table.

Awaiting them next is the challenge of an opposing outfit who have been beaten in the last 16 editions of this fixture across all competitions.

Currently averaging over three goals per game on the road this term, Saturday's visitors will be looking to put on another attacking masterclass away from home.

PEC Zwolle were on the receiving end of a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Almere City when the teams went head-to-head on Saturday night.

Johnny Jansen's men dominated for large spells of the contest but conceded a stunning strike to Thomas Robinet 20 minutes from time which turned out to be the decider.

With 27 points from 22 games so far, De Blauwvingers sit 10th in the standings, albeit just two points adrift in the race for the final European place.

Having won just one of their last five home matches leading up to Saturday's affair, the hosts will be keen to give their fans reason to cheer this time around.

Team News

Zwolle trio Samir Lagsir, Ferdy Druijf and Ryan Thomas are all ruled out this weekend as they continue to nurse respective knee injuries.

Zico Buurmeester also misses out for the home side due to a damaged ankle, but the midfielder is not far off a return to action as things stand.

PSV's Noa Lang is sidelined with a muscle injury, while fellow Dutchman Guus Til prepares to sit out a fourth consecutive game with a hamstring problem.

Twenty-two-year-old Armel Bella-Kotchap is a guaranteed absentee for the away side, having suffered a shoulder injury in early February.

PEC Zwolle possible starting lineup:
Schendelaar; Reijnders, Kersten, Lam, MacNulty; El Azzouzi, Van Den Berg; Namli, Velanas, De Rooy; Thy

PSV Eindhoven possible starting lineup:
Benitez; Teze, Ramalho, Boscagli, Dest; Schouten, Veerman; Pepi, Lozano, Tillman; De Jong

We say: PEC Zwolle 1-3 PSV Eindhoven

PSV boast the best attacking and defensive away records in the division, and it is hard to envisage any other outcome than a win for them this weekend. We fully expect the league leaders to cruise to a routine win and take one step closer to glory.
