Sports Mole previews Tuesday's Championship clash between Queens Park Rangers and Huddersfield Town, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Queens Park Rangers will look to end a three-game winless run when they play host to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.

The visitors, meanwhile, will try to avoid a third consecutive defeat as they attempt to close the six-point gap to safety.

Match preview

Although they currently occupy fifth place in the Championship, QPR will be low on confidence after picking up just one point from their last three games.

In their most recent encounter, QPR's seven-game unbeaten home run was ended by West Brom, who recorded a 1-0 win courtesy of Kyle Bartley's second-half winner.

QPR's poor form has come as a result of their struggles in front of goal, having failed to find the net in each of their last three games.

Despite losing on Saturday, the R's can draw inspiration from the fact that they have won four of their last six home games.

The hosts have only conceded three goals in their previous five home matches, and they will be looking for another strong defensive display against Huddersfield.

The visitors have won only one of their last six games in all competitions, while their last two games have both ended in defeat.

Huddersfield were beaten 1-0 in their away meeting with Blackburn Rovers at the weekend following a first-half strike from Ben Brereton Diaz.

Their poor form leaves them bottom of the Championship table with 15 points to their name, and as a result, they are currently six points adrift from safety.

If they are to beat the drop this season then they will need to improve on their travels, as Huddersfield have the worst away record in the Championship after picking up only two points from their eight away games.

Although Huddersfield are still waiting for their first away win of the season, they have only lost one of their last five league games at Loftus Road.

Team News

The hosts are without the services of Tyler Roberts and Jake Clarke-Salter due to calf and knee injuries respectively.

After featuring as a second-half substitute against West Brom, Andre Dozzell could be brought into the starting lineup.

Lyndon Dykes will retain his place up front, and he will be looking to add to the five goals that he has scored this season.

As for the visitors, they will are unable to call upon a number of players due to injury issues, including Patrick Jones, Jonathan Hogg and Tyreece Simpson.

Oliver Turton and Matty Pearson are also sidelined for Huddersfield, while Yuta Nakayama is a long-term absentee.

Jordan Rhodes dropped out of the starting lineup for the defeat to Blackburn, but he could return to the side for Tuesday's contest.

Queens Park Rangers possible starting lineup:
Dieng; Laird, Dickie, Balogun, Paal; Dozzell, Field, Iroegbunam; Willock, Chair, Dykes

Huddersfield Town possible starting lineup:
Nicholls; Spencer, Helik, Boyle, Ruffels; Camara, Kasumu; Thomas, Rudoni, Holmes; Rhodes

We say: Queens Park Rangers 2-1 Huddersfield Town

Although QPR have failed to win their last three games, we think that they will edge out a Huddersfield side who have struggled away from home this season.
