In their penultimate warm-up clash ahead of the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup, Cameroon welcome Jamaica to the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo on Wednesday evening.
The hosts will be looking to head into football's biggest tournament on a high, while the visitors take to the pitch for the last time before the commencement of their CONCACAF Nations League campaign next year.
Match preview
Cameroon fell to a second consecutive friendly defeat on September 27 when they were narrowly beaten 2-1 by South Korea at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Son Heung-Min opened the scoring with a well-taken strike 10 minutes shy of the half-time whistle and that was enough to put Rigobert Song's men to the sword.
Since confirming their place at this year's World Cup, the Indomitable Lions have won just two of their subsequent five matches, which does not make for good reading.
More worryingly for them, the Central Africans have struggled at both ends of the pitch in that time, scoring just two goals while conceding four.
Wednesday's visitors now set out to get themselves back on track before taking on Panama in their final involvement before getting started in Qatar with an encounter against Switzerland.
Jamaica were on the receiving end of a comprehensive 3-0 loss against Argentina when the teams went head-to-head at the Red Bull Arena on September 28.
Heimir Hallgrimsson's men fell behind to Julian Alvarez's 13th-minute opener before a second-half brace from Lionel Messi put the result beyond reasonable doubt.
Consequently, the Reggae Boyz have now come out on top in just one of seven outings since their final World Cup qualifier against Honduras back in May.
Still yet to win any of their most recent eight matches since the turn of the year, Wednesday's visitors have it all to do in Yaounde where they will be looking to avoid yet another fruitless outing on enemy territory.
Team News
Chelsea's Omari Hutchinson was initially called up by Jamaica, but the Premier League giants opted against releasing the 19-year-old ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup meeting against Manchester City.
Hutchinson would have been the only Europe-based player to have been called up, but his absence means that Jamaica will take to the field with none of its European contingent.
Like their visitors, Cameroon are also unable to call upon any of their players in Europe for now, with Rigobert Song naming a 26-man squad yet to make a single national-team appearance amongst themselves.
Thirty-two-year-old Brandon Djoufack is the oldest of an otherwise young crop of players, and he will be expected to feature right from the off.
Cameroon possible starting lineup:
Kerrido; Djoufack, Youssoufa, Alain Moukoko, Etta; Ikoung, Bato, Mbah; Marou, Emmanuel, Donfack
Jamaica possible starting lineup:
Waite; Harvey, Lowe, Topey, Brown, Lambert; Fletcher, Phillips, Williams, Atkinson; Murray
We say: Cameroon 1-1 Jamaica
With little at stake and neither team fielding its regular starting XI, we expect an open and entertaining contest in this one. That said, we can also see the sides cancelling each other out over the course of the 90 minutes and settling for a share of the spoils in the end.
