Sports Mole previews Tuesday's Championship clash between Cardiff City and Hull City, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

On Tuesday, Cardiff City will attempt to claim consecutive victories when they play host to Hull City in a Championship contest.

Meanwhile, Liam Rosenior will be looking for his first win as Hull manager after beginning his reign with a goalless draw against Millwall.

Match preview

After failing to score in three consecutive defeats, Cardiff have bounced back to win two of their last three matches.

Although a 1-0 win over Rotherham United was followed by a 2-1 defeat to Watford, the Bluebirds returned to winning ways against Sunderland at the weekend.

Mark Harris scored what proved to be the winning goal in Saturday's contest to secure a 1-0 victory that leaves Cardiff in 14th position.

While they are seven points adrift of the playoffs, Cardiff are only four points above the relegation zone, and with a positive run of results required to move up the table, Mark Hudson will be looking for an improvement from his side in the final third.

The Bluebirds are currently the lowest goalscorers in the league, and they are yet to score two goals or more in a home league game this season.

While Cardiff have the chance to claim a second straight victory, Hull are winless in their last three games, but they managed to avoid a third consecutive defeat in Rosenior's first game in charge.

The new boss guided his side to just their second clean sheet of the Championship season as they held Millwall to a goalless draw despite playing with 10 men for over 50 minutes following Oscar Estupinan's red card.

The clean sheet came as a much-needed confidence boost to a side that have the worst defensive record in the league.

With Hull currently sat in 21st place and only one point above the drop zone, Rosenior will be aware that victories are required if they are to move away from danger.

The visitors do have the chance to extend their unbeaten away run to four matches after picking up seven points from their last three away games.

Team News

Cardiff are without the services of Ebou Adams and Rubin Colwill due to shoulder and hip injuries respectively, while Isaak Davies and Jamilu Collins are also sidelined.

After beating Sunderland 1-0 at the weekend, Hudson could be tempted to name an unchanged starting XI for Tuesday's contest.

Harris will lead the line for the hosts, and he will be looking to add to the three goals that he has scored this season.

As for the visitors, they are unable to call upon a number of players due to injury issues, including Callum Elder, Harvey Vale, Benjamin Tetteh and Allahyar Sayyadmanesh.

Vaughn Covil and Billy Chadwick are also ruled out, while Estupinan is suspended after being sent off at the weekend.

With Estupinan unavailable, Rosenior could bring Tyler Smith into the starting lineup following his substitute appearance against Millwall.

Cardiff City possible starting lineup:
Allsop; Romeo, Ng, Kipre, Nkounkou; Wintle, Ralls; Philogene, Ojo, O'Dowda; Harris

Hull City possible starting lineup:
Baxter; Christie, Figueiredo, Jones, Greaves; Woods, Seri; Slater, Pelkas, Longman; Smith

We say: Cardiff City 1-1 Hull City

Although Cardiff will be looking to claim consecutive victories, we think that they will have to settle for a draw against a Hull side who are unbeaten in their last three away games.
