Celta Vigo will be looking to halt their recent run of defeats when they welcome Getafe to Estadio Municipal de Balaidos on Monday night.
The Sky Blues will enter the contest off the back of a 4-1 loss at Real Valladolid, while Getafe played out a 2-2 draw with Athletic Bilbao in their last fixture.
Match preview
Three straight defeats for Celta have seen them drop down the table into 14th position in the table, now just two points outside of the relegation zone.
Eduardo Coudet's side made an encouraging start to the campaign, picking up seven points from their first four matches, but they have now lost five of their last six in Spain's top flight, which is concerning form, even at this relatively early stage of the season.
Indeed, since beating Real Betis 1-0 at home at the start of the month, Celta have lost to Barcelona, Real Sociedad and Real Valladolid, with the latter beating them 4-1 on Wednesday night.
The Sky Blues will take on Getafe, Almeria, Osasuna and Rayo Vallecano in their final matches before the campaign breaks for the World Cup, and it would not be a surprise to see them sitting around mid-table by the time that the season comes to a halt.
Celta have been victorious in two of their last three league matches against Getafe, but they suffered a 2-0 defeat to the capital club in the corresponding match during the 2021-22 campaign.
Getafe have also found it difficult in the early stages of this season, winning just two of their 10 matches, with a total of nine points leaving them in 17th position in the table.
Quique Sanchez Flores's side are without a victory in La Liga since the middle of September, losing back-to-back home games against Real Valladolid and Real Madrid earlier this month.
Getafe have drawn their last two, meanwhile, sharing the points at Rayo Vallecano before holding Athletic Bilbao to a 2-2 during the week, with Munir El Haddadi netting in the 76th minute to earn a point for the hosts at Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
The Deep Blue Ones have finished 15th in their last two campaigns at this level, but they have only spent one season out of the top flight since 2004, so it would be a surprise to see them relegated this term.
Getafe's last two wins over Celta have come on their travels, meanwhile, also triumphing 1-0 in the corresponding fixture during the 2019-20 campaign.
Team News
Celta could be without the services of Augusto Solari due to an ankle problem, but the home side are otherwise in excellent shape heading into Monday's contest.
Goncalo Paciencia will be available again following a suspension, but Iago Aspas and Jorgen Strand Larsen are set to continue in the final third of the field.
There could be a couple of changes from the side that started against Real Valladolid, though, with Gabri Veiga and Carles Perez potentially coming into the XI.
As for Getafe, Mauro Arambarri remains a doubt due to an ankle problem, but the visitors have no other injury concerns at this moment in time.
Head coach Sanchez will have been pleased with what he saw against Athletic Bilbao last time out, so it would not be a surprise to see the same XI take to the field here, although Fabrizio Angileri is pushing to feature as the left-sided wing-back.
Munir might have to again accept a spot on the bench despite scoring last time out, with Enes Unal and Borja Mayoral set to play as the front two in a 3-5-2 formation for the visitors.
Celta Vigo possible starting lineup:
Marchesin; Mallo, Aidoo, Mingueza, Galan; Veiga, Rodriguez, Beltran, Perez; Larsen, Aspas
Getafe possible starting lineup:
Soria; Mitrovic, Duarte, Dakonam; Suarez, Maksimovic, Milla, Alena, Angileri; Unal, Mayoral
We say: Celta Vigo 1-1 Getafe
Getafe were impressive in their draw with Athletic Bilbao last time out, and they recorded a 2-0 win over Celta in Vigo last season. We are finding it difficult to back an away victory here but believe that Getafe will have enough to secure a share of the spoils on Monday night.
