Sports Mole previews Sunday's Women's Super League clash between Everton Ladies and Arsenal Women, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Arsenal Women will attempt to claim a fourth consecutive Women's Super League victory when they travel to Walton Hall Park for Sunday's meeting with Everton Ladies.

The Toffees, meanwhile, will have the chance to clinch a second straight win after beating Brighton & Hove Albion in their most recent outing.

Match preview

Everton will head into the weekend in a positive mood after they edged out Brighton to end a five-game winless run in all competitions.

Karen Holmgaard saw her opener cancelled out by Tatiana Pinto, before the Toffees restored their advantage courtesy of a Guro Bergsvand own goal.

The 2-1 victory proved enough to secure safety with three games left to play against Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Bristol City.

Although they have staved off relegation, Everton will be determined to produce a strong performance on Sunday after losing six of their nine home league games (W1, D2)

However, their hopes of claiming a positive result will be tempered by the fact that they have lost each of their previous 19 meetings with Arsenal.

The Gunners are all but guaranteed a top-three finish after easing to a 3-0 victory in last Sunday's home meeting with Leicester City.

Beth Mead found the net to give Arsenal a narrow half-time lead against the Foxes, before she grabbed her second just moments after Alessia Russo had got on the scoresheet.

Having collected 43 points from 19 matches, Arsenal still have a mathematical chance of winning their first WSL title in five years.

With three games left to play, the Gunners are six points adrift of leaders Manchester City and three points away from second-placed Chelsea, who have a game in hand over their two title rivals.

Although Arsenal are favourites for Sunday's contest, they have experienced an inconsistent spell of results on the road, having won two and lost three of their previous five away league games.

Team News

Everton boss Brian Sorensen has revealed that Aurora Galli will miss out after picking up an injury against Brighton.

The Toffees are also unable to call upon Heather Payne, Rikke Madsen, Emily Ramsey and Toni Duggan, while Katrine Veje and Karoline Olesen are both doubts.

Arsenal loanee Kathrine Kuhl is ineligible to face her parent club and will have to drop out of the squad after making 10 consecutive starts in all competitions.

As for the visitors, they remain without the services of Lia Walti, who is set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Lotte Wubben-Moy and Kyra Cooney-Cross are closing in on a return to fitness and are both in contention to feature in Sunday's matchday squad.

Russo will be looking to score in a third consecutive game after netting three goals in Arsenal's last two matches.

Everton Ladies possible starting lineup:
Brosnan; Hope, Vanhaevermaet, Finnigan, Stenevik, S Holmgaard; Bissell, K Holmgaard, Wheeler, Bennison; Snoeijs

Arsenal Women possible starting lineup:
Zinsberger; Fox, Williamson, Catley, McCabe; Pelova, Little; Mead, Russo, Foord; Blackstenius

We say: Everton Ladies 1-3 Arsenal Women

Arsenal will carry significant momentum into Sunday's contest after claiming three consecutive league victories, and with the Gunners boasting an impressive head-to-head record, we think that they will leave Walton Hall Park with the spoils.
