Sports Mole previews Tuesday's League Two clash between Harrogate Town and Accrington Stanley, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

The latest round of games in the 2023-24 League Two campaign sees Harrogate Town welcome Accrington Stanley to EnviroVent Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Both teams head into this one off the back of respective victories last time out, and they will be looking to pick up where they left off.

Match preview

Harrogate claimed a fairly comfortable 2-1 victory over Grimsby Town as the teams locked horns at Blundell Park on Saturday afternoon.

Goals in either half from Matty Foulds and Abraham Odoh put Simon Weaver's men in cruise control before Kieran Green grabbed a late consolation in second-half stoppage time.

As a result, the Sulphurites have moved up to 14th place in the League Two table and are now five points away from the last playoff place.

On the menu next is the task of facing off against an opposing outfit who have emerged victorious from the only two previous editions of this fixture.

Having ended a seven-game winless streak in their last outing, Tuesday's hosts now go in search of consecutive wins in front of their fans for the first time since September.

Accrington Stanley secured a first league win in five outings as they ran out 2-1 winners against Walsall at The Wham Stadium on Saturday.

John Coleman's men opened the scoring through Tommy Leigh but conceded a late first-half equaliser to Freddie Draper before Joe Pritchard grabbed the winner 12 minutes into the second period.

With 34 points picked up from 23 matches, the 'Owd Reds sit eighth in the standings, outside the promotion playoff places by only one point.

Currently without a win in four straight matches on the road leading up to Tuesday's contest, the visitors have work to do at both ends of the pitch to avoid yet another fruitless away outing.

Team News

Since ending a six-game goal drought, Abraham Odoh has netted in back to back games for Harrogate, making him one to keep an eye on here.

Nineteen-year-old George Horbury remains unavailable for the home side after missing the victory over Grimsby Town due to a slight knock.

Accrington's Tommy Leigh found the back of the net on his comeback from the sidelines and is expected to retain his place in the starting lineup.

Rosaire Longelo-Mbule is set to miss a second game on the bounce for the visitors, but the defender is not far off a return to action.

Harrogate Town possible starting lineup:
Belshaw; Foulds, Gibson, Burrell, Ramsay; Dooley, Cornelius; Daly, Odoh, Thomson; Muldoon

Accrington Stanley possible starting lineup:
Walsh; O'Brien, Hills, Gubbins, Shipley; Martin, Woods; Pritchard, Leigh, Nolan; Woods

We say: Harrogate Town 1-1 Accrington Stanley

Harrogate have been far from convincing on home turf, but Accrington have also struggled on their travels this term. We are backing a share of the spoils with honours even at the sound of the final whistle.
