Sports Mole previews Tuesday's League One clash between Ipswich Town and Accrington Stanley, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Ipswich Town will attempt to claim a fourth consecutive victory when they welcome Accrington Stanley to Portman Road on Tuesday.

The visitors, meanwhile, will be looking to record a second straight victory after they moved out of the League One drop zone with a narrow victory over Forest Green Rovers.

Match preview

Ipswich will head into Tuesday's contest in confident mood after they cruised to a comfortable home victory over Burton Albion on Saturday.

The Tractor Boys took a three-goal lead into half time thanks to goals from Conor Chaplin, Nathan Broadhead and Freddie Ladapo, before Chaplin added another in the second period to wrap up Ipswich's second straight 4-0 home win.

Impressively, Kieran McKenna's side have kept four consecutive clean sheets and are now unbeaten in five matches.

Saturday's dominant performance also keeps third-placed Ipswich in the promotion race with five points separating them from Plymouth Argyle, who currently occupy second position.

Ipswich have only lost one of their 17 home league games this season, and since losing 1-0 to Lincoln City in November, they have embarked on a 10-game unbeaten home run in the third tier, which they will be looking to continue on Tuesday.

In contrast to their hosts, Accrington are battling to preserve their League One status, and their survival hopes received a boost at the weekend when they claimed a narrow 2-1 home win over basement side Forest Green Rovers.

Accrington fell behind in the 22nd minute following a Myles Peart-Harris strike, but the game changed just before half time when Forest Green's Oliver Casey was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Nathan Butler-Oyedeji.

From the resulting free kick, Sean McConville found the head of Aaron Pressley, who nodded his side level, before Rosaire Longelo scored the winning goal in the 64th minute to guide Accrington to a crucial victory.

As a result of three precious points, Accrington moved out of the drop zone, but with just one point separating them from the bottom three, there is still work to be done if they are to stave off relegation.

Accrington will now turn their attention to Tuesday's encounter, where they will be aiming to record their first away league victory since November, after failing to win any of their last six away trips in the third tier.

Team News

Ipswich are still without the services of Panutche Camara, Dominic Ball, Tyreece John-Jules and Lee Evans, who are all recovering from injury issues.

Leif Davis will have to be assessed after the left-back was forced off in the 83rd minute against Burton, and if passed fit, he will retain his place in the side for Tuesday's contest.

After making his first start for the club at the weekend, Massimo Luongo is expected to keep his position in the centre of the Ipswich midfield.

As for the visitors, they have to contend with a lengthy injury list, which includes Ryan Astley, Ethan Hamilton, Joe Pritchard, David Morgan, Michael Nottingham and Jay Rich-Baghuelou.

Liam Coyle is also sidelined after undergoing surgery on a facial injury, while Tommy Leigh will serve the final game of a three-match suspension.

After coming off the bench at half time against Forest Green, Dan Martin could be presented with a starting place for the midweek encounter.

Ipswich Town possible starting lineup:
Walton; Clarke, Woolfenden, Burgess, Davis; Morsy, Luongo; Burns, Chaplin, Broadhead; Ladapo

Accrington Stanley possible starting lineup:
Jensen; Fernandes, Rodgers, Sangare; Clark, Conneely, Quirk, Longelo-Mbule; Butler-Oyedeji; McConville, Pressley

We say: Ipswich Town 3-1 Accrington Stanley

Ipswich have been a dominant force at Portman Road this season, and we think that they will extend their unbeaten home run to 11 league games when they face an Accrington side who are winless in six away matches in League One.
