Sheffield United will look to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship when they take on Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United at Bramall Lane on Tuesday.
The hosts come into this one fresh from a victory over Burnley, while the visitors enter the fray following a loss against Norwich City last weekend.
Match preview
Sheffield United have made a brilliant start to the 2022-23 campaign and sit third in the Championship table with 35 points from 19 matches.
Paul Heckingbottom has his side playing some promising attacking football, while the Blades are unbeaten in their last four matches, amassing 10 points from 12 available.
Last time out, Sheffield United thrashed promotion rivals Burnley by a score of 5-2, as goals from Iliman Ndiaye, Jack Robinson, Anel Ahmedhodzic and a double from Oli McBurnie secured a vital win on Saturday.
They have the second-best attacking record in the division, netting 34 goals so far this season which is only bettered by league leaders Burnley.
Should they claim victory on Tuesday night, Sheffield United could go top of the Championship if other results fall their way.
Rotherham find themselves in 17th position in the league table and will be aiming to stride further away from the relegation zone with a win at Bramall Lane.
The Millers are on a run of three straight defeats under Matthew Taylor, which have all been decided by a single goal which will come as a major frustration to the manager.
In their last outing, Rotherham were on the end of a narrow 2-1 loss to Norwich, as a goal from Oliver Rathbone was cancelled out by efforts from Kenny McLean and Aaron Ramsey.
Away from home, they have the fourth-worst record in the Championship, accumulating just seven points from a possible 27, which has contributed significantly to their current situation.
They will need to be in much better shape this midweek if they are to take anything from Sheffield United in what will undoubtedly be a stern task.
Team News
Sheffield United will be without a host of stars for the visit of Rotherham on Tuesday. Daniel Jebbison and Sander Berge will be missing from the tie due to ligament injuries.
The Blades will also have to contend without Jayden Bogle, Rhian Brewster, Tommy Doyle, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Max Lowe and Jack O'Connell for the clash owing to various concerns.
On the other hand, Rotherham have no injury worries ahead of the trip to Bramall Lane, but defender Wes Harding could pick up a suspension if he is booked during the match.
Midfielder Ben Wiles is another who could potentially be suspended if he manages to pick up a yellow card during the tie on Tuesday.
Sheffield United possible starting lineup:
Foderingham; Basham, Egan, Ahmedhodzic; Baldock, Doyle, Norwood, Osborn; Sharp, Ndiaye; McBurnie
Rotherham United possible starting lineup:
Johansson; Harding, Wood, Peltier; Brammall, Wiles, Barlaser, Rathbone, Norton-Cuffy; Washington, Ogbene
We say: Sheffield United 2-0 Rotherham United
In a match with consequences at both ends of the table, we expect an open affair that will open up opportunities for both sides to capitalise.
Nevertheless, Sheffield United will claim another three points in their hunt for automatic promotion from the Championship.
