Morning all. So, how much money is going to change hands today, then? Done deals are being completed every day now and today is likely to be no different. Here, we will be covering all the biggest news.
For a more in depth look at the major deals and rumours, here is our
8am Transfer Talk Update.
The biggest done deal from yesterday was Liverpool's
signing of Dejan Lovren, while the club almost made the headlines for
pulling out of a deal to add Loic Remy to the Anfield squad. However, following that revelation, manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he is in
no hurry to secure the services of a replacement for Luis Suarez.
BREAKING NEWS! It's disappointment for the likes of Tottenham following confirmation from Atletico Madrid that they have
reached an agreement to sign Antoine Griezmann from Real Sociedad. Rumours had suggested that the North Londoners were among the clubs that were eager to sign the French international.
Back in England, it would appear that Hull City are closing in on the signing of Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire. The League One club have this morning revealed that they have
accepted an offer from their Premier League counterparts for the 21-year-old.
There could also be a departure from the Premier League shortly, with Esteban Granero
tipped to leave Queens Park Rangers for Real Sociedad. The midfielder joined Sociedad on loan last season, but his stint was cut short by a knee injury.
A saga is threatening to rumble as far as Harry Maguire's future is concerned. We told you earlier that Sheffield United had accepted a bid from Hull for Maguire. However, Hull have
responded to that news by insisting that as far as they were aware, their final offer had been rejected! Perhaps the move is not as clear cut as we first thought.
And that is my first stint of the day done for now. Coming up shortly will be Jack Prescott to guide you through all the speculation until 2pm.
Thank you, Liam! Let's get the ball rolling with some news regarding Queens Park Rangers. Manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that Niko Kranjcar could return to the club if the price is right. The 29-year-old midfielder spent last season on loan at Loftus Road from Dynamo Kiev, where he helped the Hoops secure promotion to the Premier League.
Hull City are understood to have
agreed a £3m deal to sign Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson. The 22-year-old full-back is expected to leave the Gunners this summer following the arrival of Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United.
Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis has backed new signing Fraizer Campbell to be
among the goals this season. The striker, 26, joined Palace from Cardiff City on a three-year deal last week.
1PM
TRANSFER TALK UPDATE! You can keep up to date with all of the latest developments in the transfer window right here with our
afternoon roundup.
Notts County boss Shaun Derry has revealed that he is interested in a move for former Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll. The free agent, 36, has recently been on trial with the Magpies following his departure from Olympiacos at the end of last season. What this transfer news really does is give us a great excuse to relive this:
Hull City goalkeeper Mark Oxley has
signed a six-month loan deal with Hibernian. The 23-year-old, who is yet to start a game for Hull, has recently been on trial with the Scottish Championship side.
That's all from me for now, but Liam Apicella will be with you until 4pm to keep you up to date with all of the latest developments in the summer transfer window. Enjoy!
Thank you Jack and afternoon all. Any chance of a big deal being completed over the next few hours? If something does happen, we'll bring it straight to you.
Brendan Rodgers has had his say on Loic Remy's collapsed move to Liverpool and now we've heard from QPR boss Harry Redknapp. As far as he is concerned, there is
no way that the France international will have failed a medical, despite reports to the contrary.
No official confirmation from either club, but according to Gary Lineker, Calum Chambers has joined Arsenal from Southampton:
It wouldn't be a
Sports Mole transfer blog without an update on Manchester United's reported pursuit of Arturo Vidal. According to speculation in Italy this afternoon, the Red Devils are
ready to launch a bid of £47m for the Chilean midfielder.
BREAKING NEWS! Arsenal have completed the signing of Calum Chambers from Southampton. More to follow.
For more on Chambers's move to the Emirates Stadium,
click here. Reports have suggested that the right-back has cost the Gunners around £15m.
Arsene Wenger has had his say on Chambers: "We are very pleased that Calum has agreed to join us. The way he adapted to the Premier League last season with Southampton at a young age shows that he has tremendous quality. He has a lot of the attributes that we look for in a young player and I am sure that he will do well with us."
And that is as far as I take you for today. Jack Prescott will be returning for his second stint of the day shortly. Over to you, Jack.
Afternoon! A bit of news from Stamford Bridge with defender Branislav Ivanovic backing Chelsea to be
"more creative" in attack this season following the club's activity in the transfer window. The Blues have already been busy in adding to their ranks this summer, with Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa, Didier Drogba and Filipe Luis all arriving in West London.
Speaking of Chelsea, did you see Fernando Torres's horrendous miss last night? The striker somehow managed to put the ball over the crossbar from one yard out during their friendly victory over NK Olimpija Ljubljana. Check out the video below if you're in need of some laughs this Monday afternoon:
Doncaster Rovers have
confirmed the signing of former Blackpool striker Nathan Tyson. The 32-year-old had been on trial with the League One club after being released by Blackpool earlier this summer.
Liverpool have confirmed the new signing Dejan Lovren will wear the shirt number 6 next season. The defender
joined the Reds from Southampton on Sunday night for a reported fee of £20m.
Manchester United's attacking midfielder Davide Petrucci has reportedly been made a
loan target of Sheffield United. The 22-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Roma in 2008, but he is yet to make a senior appearance for the club and has instead spent most of his time out on loan.
Good news if you're an Everton fan because the club has
completed the signing of Bosnian midfielder Muhamed Besic for a reported £4m. Toffees manager Roberto Martinez confirmed earlier today that a move for the 21-year-old to arrive at Goodison Park was close to completion.
What is going on at St Mary's Stadium?! Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly
on the verge of signing Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez from Southampton. The pair have been strongly linked in recent weeks with switches to the North Londoners, who are managed by former Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Esteban Granero has
joined Real Sociedad from Queens Park Rangers for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old midfielder, who has penned a "long-term contract", spent last season on loan with the La Liga club.
Following his move to Everton, Muhamed Besic has told the club's website that manager Roberto Martinez played a key part in his move from Ferencvaros:
"The most important reason why I signed for Everton was Roberto Martinez – I think he is a fantastic coach.
"I know Everton is a really traditional club and the supporters are fantastic here. I think it is the biggest step for me after leaving Hungary.
"I think my style is suited to playing in the Premier League and I think this is the best league in the world. It will be difficult for me because we have fantastic players, but I think with the help of the coach, I will do my best."
Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic has claimed that the club
needed to sign Nemanja Vidic this summer. The former Manchester United defender agreed a deal with the Serie A side in March before officially joining them at the end of last season.
That's all from me for this evening, but Sian Cowper will now be with you until 11pm to take you through all of the latest transfer news and gossip. Enjoy!
Thanks Jack! Good evening, it's been a busy day in the transfer market so far, and the moves keep coming as Brighton & Hove Albion have announced that they have
signed goalkeeper David Stockdale from Fulham.
Incidentally, if you have missed any of today's transfer stories, you can catch up with them all in our
7pm Transfer Talk Update.
If you've been following the transfer news from the last couple of days, you'll have no doubt heard all about Loic Remy's collapsed move to Liverpool. Former Reds defender Jamie Carragher has weighed in, suggesting that the French international would have been the
perfect fit for the team.
Striker Tony Watt has announced that he is leaving Celtic, having signed a
five-year contract with Belgian club Standard Liege. Here's his statement on the move:
Well Celtic have moved quickly to replace Tony Watt, temporarily at least. The Hoops have announced that Cardiff City striker Jo Inge Berget will be joining them
on loan until January.
There's some interesting transfer news coming out of Brazil this evening, as former Barcelona midfielder and two-time world player of the year Ronaldinho has reportedly
left Atletico Mineiro by mutual consent after two years with the club. Assuming the news is confirmed, it would make the 34-year-old a free agent.
Amid reports that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to make an approach for Angel di Maria, reports have emerged that a deal would allow Liverpool to
make a move for PSG striker Ezequiel Lavezzi. The Argentine was linked with the Reds earlier in the summer, but seemed to fall off the radar while they chased Loic Remy.
Over the weekend, it appeared that Everton were on the verge of signing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku on a permanent deal, after he spent last season on loan at Goodison Park. However, manager Roberto Martinez has said that the move is
not yet certain.
Manchester United have been linked with countless players this summer as they bid to recover from their worst ever finish in the Premier League. However, manager Louis van Gaal has said that he is still assessing his squad, and that he will
not be rushing into buying new players.
Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson is proving popular today. The 22-year-old was reported to be on the verge of a move to Hull City this morning, but it's emerged this evening that he could be joining West Ham United
on loan in the next 24 hours.
Last week, Steven Caulker completed his move to Queens Park Rangers, having also attracted interest from Crystal Palace. His transfer means that the Eagles are still in the market for a centre-back, and are reportedly
preparing to make a bid for Lazio's Michael Ciani.
Well that's it for me this evening, but stick around as Joe Fish will be here for the next three hours to keep you up to date with all the latest news and rumours.
It is no secret that Blackpool need to press on with business ahead of the Championship season, which begins next weekend. The Tangerines have made
former defender Peter Clarke, who was released by Huddersfield Town in May, their third signing of the day and the 11th contracted player at the club.
A story from across the channel now and 22-year-old Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has left Marseille and brother Andre to join their Ligue 1 rivals Lorient on a
four-year contract.
Former Rangers, Aston Villa and Sunderland defender Carlos Cuellar is currently without a club after being released by the Black Cats earlier this summer, and a report claims that
Blackburn Rovers are hopeful of persuading the 32-year-old centre-back to drop down into the Championship.
Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has also raided former club Crystal Palace for two players this summer - Ross Fitzsimons and Dean Moxey - and he has put his Selhurst Park knowledge to use again to sign ex-Eagles defender Quade Taylor on a
one-year contract.
It seems that Freedman is keen on improving his defensive options this summer. Taylor arrived this afternoon and former Bristol City centre-back Liam Fontaine is believed to be
training with the Trotters with the view to earning a contract. The 28-year-old has a wealth of Championship experience from his eight years at Ashton Gate, which ended earlier this summer.
Onto a more high-profile transfer story involving a defender, and Lazio have confirmed that Netherlands World Cup star Stefan de Vrij has arrived in Rome to
undergo a medical at the club. The 22-year-old had been heavily linked with Manchester United due to his association with Louis van Gaal.
De Vrij appears to be closing in on his move to Serie A, but one man seemingly poised to leave Italy is Robinho, with AC Milan revealing that they have several
offers on the table for the Brazilian.
Following Robinho out of Serie A could be sought-after Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado. His club have revealed that they are
yet to receive an offer from the Colombia World Cup star, but admit that £40m could be enough to tempt them into selling. Manchester United and Barcelona are keeping tabs.
And our final line for this evening involves another Serie A club, with Napoli having reportedly met with Marouane Fellaini and his agent to discuss a
possible switch from Manchester United. The Belgian midfielder's future at Old Trafford is unclear following his poor first season with the club.
That's it from Sports Mole's transfer blog until 9am tomorrow, when all of the speculation will no doubt continue as the start of the new season draws nearer and nearer...
