Sports Mole previews Sunday's La Liga clash between Las Palmas and Osasuna, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Osasuna will be bidding to make it three La Liga victories in a row when they head to Las Palmas on Sunday.

The visitors currently sit 11th in the table, just three points behind ninth-placed Las Palmas, who will enter the match off the back of a 5-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano.

Match preview

Las Palmas finished second in the Segunda Division last season to secure a return to the top flight, and the team have performed above expectations this term, currently sitting ninth in the table.

Pio Pio have only managed to win one of their last four matches in the league, but their two defeats during that run have been to Real Madrid and Atletico, and they recorded a 2-0 victory over Valencia in their last game in front of their own supporters on February 10.

Garcia Pimienta's side boast a record of 10 wins, five draws and 10 defeats from their 25 league games this season, while they have scored 25 times and also conceded 25.

Las Palmas have been strong at home this season, picking up 21 points from their 12 matches in front of their own fans, but Osasuna have also managed four victories on their travels this term.

Los Amarillos recorded a 5-2 win over Osasuna when the two teams locked horns in the corresponding match during the 2016-17 campaign, but the points were shared in a 1-1 draw earlier this season.

Osasuna, meanwhile, will enter the match off the back of successive wins over Real Sociedad and Cadiz, which have left them on 32 points from 25 league matches this season.

Jagoba Arrasate's side currently sit 11th in the table, boasting a record of nine wins, five draws and 11 defeats, and they are only three points behind ninth-placed Las Palmas ahead of this contest.

Osasuna finished seventh in Spain's top flight last season, in addition to reaching the Copa del Rey final, so there has been a huge drop-off from the team this term.

Los Rojillos will certainly have their eyes on a top-half finish in the closing months of the campaign, but they will need to find a level of consistency which has not been there throughout the season.

The 1-0 success away to Real Sociedad on February 10 proved to be Osasuna's first triumph on their travels in the league since the start of October, which is an indication of the size of their task in this match.

Team News

Las Palmas will be without the services of Eric Curbelo and Alvaro Lemos due to muscular issues, while Maximo Perrone is out of this weekend's contest through suspension.

Perrone's absence could open the door for Alberto Moleiro to come into the XI, but head coach Garcia Pimienta is expected to resist the temptation to shuffle his pack following the five-goal loss to Atletico.

Sandro Ramirez should continue through the middle for Las Palmas, while Marvin Park and Munir El Haddadi are expected to feature in the wide positions on Sunday.

As for Osasuna, Juan Cruz, Ruben Pena and Jose Manuel Arnaiz will be unavailable for selection due to injury.

The visitors will also be without the services of central defender David Garcia, who picked up a milestone yellow card in the team's 2-0 success over Cadiz last time out.

Ante Budimir scored twice in the team's league victory and will again lead the line, and he should again be supported by Ruben Garcia and Moi Gomez in the final third of the field.

Las Palmas possible starting lineup:
Valles; Suarez, Coco, Marmol, S Cardona; Park, Munoz, K Rodriguez, Moleiro, Munir; Sandro

Osasuna possible starting lineup:
Herrera; Pena, Catena, Herrando, Mojica; Moncayola, Munoz, Oroz; Ruben Garcia, Budimir, M Gomez

We say: Las Palmas 1-0 Osasuna

Las Palmas will be looking to bounce back from their heavy defeat at Atletico, and we are backing them to secure a narrow success here despite Osasuna's recent back-to-back victories.
